Just wondering if anyone has tried the latest leaked (beta) version of Windows 7 SP1?
I have posted the correct build numbers on my blog: Windows 7 SP1 (http://www.chrislowthian.co.uk/windows-7-service-pack-1-sp1-beta-leaks/1445/)
Not sure if I should bother installing it or just wait for the final version?
If anyone is already running it please let me know your experiences with it.

Thanks for the peak Chris.
I'm trying to avoid betas wherever possible. I put too much work into keeping my systems fit and trim to lose them to betas.
I have a test rack with XP that I use for betas where I have no choice. Some software are in the perpetual beta mode.
In the spirit of great forum enthusiasm, we thought you might volunteer to run SP1 and post back.

Well.........actually I installed it yesterday. System is still running perfect, in fact not noticed any difference at all. But they did say that SP1 would just be bug and security fixes.
I found the original watermark remover hack that was for windows 7 which worked fine too. No annoying watermark in the bottom right of my desktop now :D
I guess to be honest, you might as well just run windows update and install all the patches from there. No point installing SP1 until the final version is available.

My question would have been: what problems are you having that made you so anxious to upgrade? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

At first I was going to wait but as always I just couldn't
Some people are saying that SP1 is something of a PR solution aimed mainly at the people who always refuse to upgrade to a new OS until SP1 is released.
What you've said about SP1 being mainly bug and security fixes seems to support that theory.

I only ran Windows Update and I believed that's about the same as installing the SP1 Beta's. I'm too lazy to do anything for my Windows 7 right now on 4th of July weekend, just wanna play with my new toy SR9C at the local range. :D
