The fathers in laws pc was showing 2007 tonight?
So i thought i would change the date to todays, fair enough after rebooting it stayed on the new date as of today ,but when trying to do a windows xp update ( express check) , it says the date does the match the update or something like that, could it be the cmos battery on the way out ,just the date in the bottom right stayed okay after changing it to todays date? He recently installed the rapport software for his online banking but i uninstalled it after changing the date back, because i have kaspersky internet security on there.
Any idea?

cheers in advance!

After updating the date, remove the PSU power cord from the AC outlet for several minutes then replug the PSU to AC. If the date gets mixed up again, it's time to change the CMOS battery.
