networking 2 x 360's and going on live?

hi all, just waiting on my second modded 360 to arrive, can i network both of them to play 2 player games just by connecting the same Ethernet cable to both? also one of my 360s are beside the main pc with router and one beside a (long hard) wired pc through ethernet, i can make it wireless but like the constant connection i get with wired, any way round hooking the 360s together and playing both on live or am i dreaming? both pcs are win 7.

if you have spare ports in the back of your router,just plug both 360s into them and you can connect to live like that....i run 3 xboxes at mine but they are wireless,have had a few heads over mine for a mini lan,we had 8 through my router,some wireless and the others plugged into the ports at the back and it worked fine..
if you connect just the 2 together with a link cable then you can only play the system link part of whatever game you are playing if the game supports it.
but you must make sure the games have both got the latest update on your 360 or they wont find each other...its only a matter of signing into live that is though and then you are sorted :)

thanks for the reply m8. will i need 2 live accounts i.e paying twice lol? and as there both chipped but on different firmware, ones a samsung and ones a liteon will this cause any probs? system link? ive never seen that in a menu before do you know any games that will support this, thanks for your help m8!

ye there is a risk of getting banned if they are on live matey if they are flashed :(.and yes you will need 2 accounts buddy :(
system link will be in the multiplayer menu of quite a lot of games matey,the call of duty,halo games etc. grid and loads of others matey :)
