Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone could help me with the following , i've searched the net but can't find any relative answers.

We're in the progress of gutting our two downstairs rooms, and I want to put 3 cable outputs in each room, so 6 in total.

Whats the best way to split them , there will only ever 2 telly's and 1 modem running off them.

Just wondered what is the best way of doing it .

Many Thanks

Andy

I think the first thing to point out here is .... this will be against the terms and conditions of Virgin Media, so you will have problems if you need to call them in at any time, to rectify a fault.

If that doesn't worry you, you can buy splitters, but the signal degrades by 2-3db every time a splitter is used, so you could end up with poor results.

Going from memory, I believe the incoming connection is already split between TV and Broadband and each are treated seperately.

As for broadband, you may be better off using a Router and wiring your new rooms with Cat5 cables/sockets.

My advice, unless you are expert in these matters, would be to go over to the cableforums (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/) and read a few relevant posts about splitting and then post a question specific to your intended set up.

Hope this helps.
