External HDD

Hi, can anyone recommend an externall HDD. Looking to back up my PC with one and the other to use to store films to watch on the TV.

Have been looking at seagates but not really sure what i'm looking for to compare. Also are usb powered ones better to have or the plug ones

My choice would be Western Digital and a plug in one .... USB powered drives can sometimes cause issues.

Another vote here for the Western Digital. I personally have found them to be more reliable than Seagate over the years.

Always used the LaCie triple interface drives. Bit pricier than other drives but built like bricks.

seagate fail bigtime had a 1tb lasted less then a month
it had over 90,000 bad sectors


western digital no problems i had mine for about 4 years still works 100%
