5100A? Is this the + format only drive they released earlier? If so then Ritek will work fine. Memorex DVD+R (at least traditionally) has carried the Ricoh dye which is exactly what you will find on Ritek DVD+R discs. If you got the model wrong and are talking about a drive that supports -R, then Ritek DVD-R is MUCH better. Memorex generally uses the CMC Mag dye and it generally not as compatible as the Ritek DVD-R discs. The only thing I will tell you is if you in fact have the new dual format 2500A then steer clear of Riteks as they are having more than thier fair share of problems on that drive.

Lots of people here buy from meritline with no trouble but I prefer www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com) since they seem to be better at processing orders and thier customer service reputation is outstanding. Newegg might be just a little more expensive though. Verbatim is good media too but you won't find it at the price of Ritek. ;)

My friend has just bought a Laptop with a 5100A fitted, Firmware version 1.12.

He has used 4 X Riteks, without any probs ... also he has used Maxell 2.4 X RW's.
