Please download the free version of SuperAntiSpyware (http://www.superantispyware.com/), update its virus definitions then run a full system scan with it. You need to have a firewall and antivirus tool for the system.

Try Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/).

You'll need a good firewall and antivirus tool with real time protection. Free AVG (http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage) is a good free AV and PC Tools Firewall Plus (http://www.pctools.com/firewall/) is a decent free firewall.

If it also blocks Malwarebytes, try twankster's link in this thread (http://www.compuhelpforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25367).

How to uninstall PC Tools Firewall Plus (http://www.pctools.com/firewall/help/3.0/index.html?Uninstalling)

I tried it on my netbook and it ran pretty good. I don't understand why it ran slow on your system.

To uninstall PC Tools Firewall Plus:

Click on Start -> All Programs / Programs -> PC Tools Firewall Plus (folder) -> Uninstall PC Tools Firewall Plus. Follow the remaining uninstallation prompts to remove the application from your computer.

Alternatively you can uninstall PC Tools Firewall Plus through the control panel like this:

Open the Windows Control Panel by clicking on Start -> (Settings ->) Control Panel.

In the Control Panel, click or double-click on Add or Remove programs / Add/Remove Programs.

In the list of currently installed programs/software, click on the PC Tools Firewall Plus item to select it.

Click the Remove button and follow the remaining prompts to remove the application from your computer. --ok i did that it tell me it can't take it off it running with a program the pc need lost on that one

I had that s**t too a couple weeks ago. It came in right past NOD32 and it will get past most AVs at the moment. I have no idea why since it's not a new threat. If you start in Safe Mode it won't run which will give you time to wipe the reg keys it creates and the delete the files in Windows directories.

Check this link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-soft). Start in safe mode and make sure all of the executables and reg keys listed in that article have been safely removed. Manually removing it is the safest way to be sure that you are rid of it.

Ok anything that wants you to pay to "remove over 1890 bad things" is a piece of crap and more than likely to be malware itself.
Stick to known programs like Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware. AVG (as Van recommends) and in my humble opinion CCleaner and STOP downloading crap onto your PC.
Tracking cookies are downloaded by anyone and everyone but even Malwarebytes can delete those no problems, they're not in themselves harmful just not desireable.
You should try CCleaner though from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
Scan and repair all errors it finds.
Good luck and learn to change your surfing habits.

Hey bud, I would really recommend against continuing to install all of this software. You are likely going to only compound the problem. Manually removing rogue registry keys and dropped executables is the best way. Check the task manager to see if anything "bad" is running as well.

@ Gamemaster: To be honest mate if it was me I'd backup my files format the drive and start fresh with a clean PC.

Install one firewall and one anti-virus program of choice, install SuperAntiSpyware and be careful what's downloaded to the PC.

I also use CCleaner and would recommend it to anyone

Yep, you'll need to install a firewall and an AV tool with live/real time protection. It doesn't matter how clean the system is, the moment you connect to the Internet, ALL websites will put something onto your computer, either the cookies, spyware or nasty viruses.

You need to install a firewall and an AV software that have real time protection. They will alert you of the nasty sites when you get there and protect you against the bad stuff that the sites try to put on your system.

Are you talking about PC Tools Firewall Plus? You need to let it allow the trusted apps such as IE, FireFox to connect automatically. Please open the Firewall to check whether IE was blocked?

window is the only firewall on the pc now

Van Nugent

Windows Firewall is not a good firewall even that of Windows 7. I suggest you install PC Tools Firewall Plus and AVG Free. They are decent freeware that will give better protection than Windows Firewall. When you install them, just select normal install to let them do most of the configuration automatically. Do not select expert setup ATM.

+1 on PC Tools Firewall Plus, free or not AVG is better than nothing and you can't argue with 'free' but I wouldn't trust it to protect my system personally. Window Firewall isn't terrible imho.

Yep, hit and miss and it's true for all firewalls & AV apps. Even NIS 2010, which is a very good firewall + AV, didn't catch all of them so I use NIS 2010 + AVG free + SuperAntiSpyware. Note that we don't want to have 2 firewalls @ the same time. Win7 Firewall is much better than the one on XP & Vista but still very basic. I've tried AVG free on a laptop and found that it's a solid free AV, one of the better free AV's available.
