1st to answer ur question verbatim are in most peoples opinion the best discs to use personally never had problems with ritek discs and half the price of verbs.
To be honest think your main problem is firmware sounds like your tryin to boot wave 4+ game on an older firmware. What firmware you runnin and what game you tryin to boot?

liberty city stories is definately wave 4 you would need at least firmware 1.6 and activate disc or a non stealth firmware for your drive if its a liteon the lt firmware. alternatively you could patch the games to wave 3, google would help you find a program to do it as i never have but to be honest updating the firmware would be my recommendation if your not confident doing it yourself im sure theres people around this forum that would help you out

You said the 360 was chipped then you asked about updating firmware. Which is it? If you're 360 is chipped with NME, then you need to patch the games for NME and wave checks would be irrelevant. If it's flashed, then CRossa may be on to something with the wave thing as WET is wave 3 and GTA as he mentioned is wave 4.
Secondly, stay far away from any and all discs made by Ritek. Putting aside whether the disc would work or not, the discs are junk. Check the burn quality in an app like DVD Info and you'll see what a disaster they are. If your 360 does read them, it will struggle to do so and you'll burn out your laser much sooner than you would have otherwise.
Third, I have never seen "Act of War" for 360. Are you sure you have the correct title? There was an Act of War game for PC about 5 years ago.

The patch will actually be to wave 2. Keep in mind you won't be able to play patched games on XBL.
Use abgx to determine which wave they are. It currently supports up to wave 4. If it states wave 4 and the next time gives an unknown yada yada message, then the game is wave 5.
