Xbox 360 1 red ring

hi all,

I have a xbox360 and this has come up with 1 red ring, before this came up, i had no video image on the screen and only heard audio, then the red ring appeared not too long after this. How easy is this to repair? The xbox has been modded so can't send back etc..

If i can't repair this can i use my modded cd drive in another xbox360?

If its under 3 years old and not banned from XBL, register it at xbox.co.uk and submit a repair request either stating intermittent 3 red rings or e74 (both are covered by a three year warranty)

Makes no difference if its modded or not, it`ll either be replaced or rejected, costs you nothing to find out.

Drive can be used in another console but it will need the new consoles drive key injecting into the firmware for it to work in the new console, easier to just use the new drive.

Is there no error code onscreen? or do u still have the no video error too?
You can get a 2ndary error code by pressing/holding the synch button on the front of the console & pressing eject 4 times.
4 lights = 0
3 lights = 3
2 lights = 2
1 light = 1

should then have a code such as 0102
