just got my digi camcorder a few q aboutdv

I just got my camcorder it has a dv outout. To use this do i have a by an ieee1394 input adaptor? if so where is a good place to get one? what is a good model? does this put the videos on my camcorder to my pc?

It says it uses USB connectivity. So use your usb port to connect to computer.

firewire cable is best,most pc software will use the firewire port/link to control the actual Cam,i have the DCR-HC18E and the usb function won't allow direct control from the software to fastward/rewind/play or transfer the captured video to the pc,so went out got the firewire cable and works 1st time,perfect digital copies
