Or you could use a wave patcher (obviously unsafe for live but then so is running a modded system now)
http://x360.gx-mod.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2434Seems to work fine, you just patch the iso to the correct wave ;-)
The site is french but there is English support in the program itself.
This tool allows you to patch your games with a different wave version, which can be useful for people with older firmwares that doesn't have support for the newer waves.
This is of course NOT LIVE safe at all - but you shouldn't be connecting a FW-modded 360 on LIVE anyway.

If you know how to mod your 360, you could always update to newest firmware, 1.61 which plays up to date wave games. And also if you wanna be ready for future waves, there is a non-stealth firmware out now i believe.

Well being on XBL period could get you banned, modded or not. hehe Running a 3rd/4th/5th wave game patched to wave 2 is a sure ban though.

Agreed (although being banned un-modded is a very rare occasion) :) but it does seem that the most recent ban wave hit practically everyone so I guess going on live modded is a bit like walking across a freeway with your eyes shut, you could make it to the other side ... but it's very unlikely lol
So patched game = ban (as mentioned) , modded console = almost certainly a ban , not modded console = ban very unlikely but not unheard of lol (well it is M$)
