Firmware question

basically anyone have older firmware of 1.4 or before that can play all the latest games?

may as well downgrade the firmware on my BANNED consoles that doesn't worry about online stealth checks, etc.

but need to know which firmware plays all the latest games (not interest in 1.6/1.61 & forthcoming LT)

this will hopefully ensure i won't need to update the firmwares again.

so anyone know if the older versions play all the latest wave 4/5 games?

Hitachi, Samsung, BenQ all with xtreme FW don't stealth check but Liteon will give an issue with pre Ixtreme FW.

I'd suggest 1.6.1 for Sammy, BenQ & Liteon & 1.5.1 for Hitachi.

Samsung drive would need xtreme 5.3
Hitachi would be fine with iX 1.51
Benq would need iX 1.41 non-stealth revision or BenQ Xtreme_non_stealth
Liteon would need the recently released iX 1.6 non-stealth firmware .... never used this and its not officially released so its at your own risk


There are no pre-iXtreme (Xtreme) releases for Liteon drives to my knowledge

do i need the original firmwares for this?

or is it a matter of sending them off (dylan ;) ) and then being able to be done easily?

as i said, i have no issues keep sending one off every now & then, but i have 2 in Cambridgeshire & 1 in Devon so i'd rather not having to keep sending them ones off.

You dont need the original firmware, you do need the correct drivekey however.

Its taken from the drive, if its workin ATM it will be fine

If the consoles are currently working and playing games fine (other than wave 4 obviously) then your drivekey is safely on the dvd drive. Its a simple case of extracting from the drive and injecting into different firmware and then flashing to the drive.

I'm running v1.41 non-stealth on my BenQ and I can run everything since this fw allows non-stealth backups to boot. Really it's probably irrelevant even if I do polay on XBL because I run them all through abgx and label them accordingly.

1.6 nonstealth is out for samsung/benq/liteon and works well. It's basically just been modified to act like the boot disc has been inserted all the time.

Germs ... I mean, anonymous' f/w ;) has benq read fix (c4, 1.5)

xtreme will boot bad stealth, if you're banned, you should use it.
