Using hard drive from banned console on new one?

I'm thinking of getting a 360 arcade, but was wanting to know can i use my hard drive from my old banned 360 premium?
I don't want the new one banned or modded, just going to use it online.
Can i reformat the old one so i can start a fresh on the 360 arcade?

You don't need to reformat, having previously used it on a banned console won't get the new Arcade banned.

Your game saves and profile will be corrupted though when you put the hard drive on a new console.
