Hello.
I have a desktop system with Windows 7 installed as the operating system installed in it. The problem is that my system locks up frequently. It do not happen everytime but it does get freezed frequently. Is it because of the operating system that I have installed. When it locks up the Hard disks LED remains constant and do not flicker. Please help.

Give us a bit more info , such as your System Specs ... does it happen when running a particular application or game ?

HDD going to sleep? I know my WD Green drives shut themselves off when not in use which means a few second delay (freeze) when accessing them. I only use them for storage though, not OS, so I wouldn't know how they would behave in that capacity.

While I might be reaching here it could be either a BIOS setting or you may need to update your BIOS to a new version. It could also be one of the drivers for your Mobo, take a look in device manager and see if you have any yellow exclamtion points next to anything.
