Hi,
I can easily overclock this peach to a 3200XP but when windows loads it's asks me to put the winxp disc in and click r to repair some file.
What do u reckon i should do?

that can be caused by loads of things, when you back it off a bit does the error go?
i have had these errors and usually solved by backing it off a bit or uping the cpu voltage slightly.
assuming your memory is up to the job.

you can download prime95 and run the torture test option to make sure it is the cpu causing instability, it should find an error within 24 hours and probably 1 hour... if you lower the clock speed and it still happens it might be that a file is corrupt and you need to reinstall xp, but get the cpu running properly first
the fsb should be as high as it can go, work it out by lowering the multiplier to the minimum and raising the fsb in small steps until it gets unstable (it wont go much higher than the memory speed rating), then back it off by 5mhz or so, and start raising the multiplier... when it starts getting unstable again you can raise the vcore which will help it, but this will raise the temperature aswell so keep an eye on it, you can use mbm5 in windows to check the maximum temperature when the cpu is busy
if you cant change the multiplier then just increase the fsb until it gets unstable, then raise the vcore, then a bit more fsb, then vcore etc whilst watching the temperature, dont let it go above 55C, or 50C to be safe... if increasing the vcore has no effect it is probably the memory limiting it

all you need to do is up your voltage by +0.025 or +0.050 and that would fix your problem..

Hes right on that one uping the volts by +0.025 has solved my stability probs before.

Of course the core and memory voltages are things that you need to tweak for stability. That's why you can't go very high with the locked CPU's because you wouldn't be able to adjust those voltages.

Hey this Q was asked back in May 2004, I have a feeling he may just have solved it by now guys.
Well I hope so! lol

Or he might have already got an AMD-64 by now.
