I have never used a download manager before. I have downloaded and installed getright. I dont know if its a good or not very good app.
My problem is this;
When I select a set of files to dl. i.e
http://hotfiles.com/files/***************.part1.rar
http://hotfiles.com/files/***************.part2.rar
http://hotfiles.com/files****************.part3.rar
I only seem to get the link on the site downloaded and not the Rar file.
I have a premium account with hotfiles
Any help will be gratefully welcomed

I suggest you use FlashGet (http://www.flashget.com/en/download.htm). Download and install the version 3 Beta, which has worked very good for me.

Hi Van
I have got flashget, but still no joy.
I have noticed that if I hover over the links I posted above they turn from blue to red and I can right click and add them to flashget. The links on the site I am trying to use are in plain black text wont go red. I have tried copying the links but I cant find where to paste them. So I still stuck:(

My guess is the link only brings you to another HTML page where it has the download link. Try pressing the key Alt while clicking on the link to temporarily bypass Flashget to get to the HTML download page. If Alt key does not work, try Ctrl or Shift key (I don't remember exactly which key, TBH, because I have not used FG for a long time because the earlier versions did not work with FireFox which is my default browser :) ).

Also, you should be aware that when you use a free account to download from an upload site such as MegaUpload, RapidShare, etc. , you can't download the files with a download manager, which helps to speed up your dl's. You'll need a premium account ($$$) to download @ hi speeds and with a dl manager.

When I read your 1st post, I thought you were trying to download from hotfiles.com. Now I realized it's hotfile.com, which is an upload site so you'll need to disable FG by pressing the key I mentioned in post #4 to download the file with the browser (or open FG settings to disable browser monitor). If you don't have a premium account with hotfile.com, you can't download from their server with a dl manager.

I have a premium account with hotfile, where the files are hosted

So did you log into your account 1st before downloading the files? I'm not familiar with this site so I do not know how they support downloading through a dl manager.
Edit: I suggest you use FireFox to download the files. FF supports multiple downloads at the same time more than IE.

if you are using flashget have you inserted ur premium account details if not the we need to open flashget click the +or new tab top left a box will open then click the advance button bottom left it will open up you will enter ur details in the username and paswword details provided from your hotfile account after you have entered them click the login to server box beside the username then before you start click site properties 3rd from bottom right and insert same details in there click ofk or apply then click save as defaults you should be then ready to download the files i think the reason the files won't download properly is because the premium account details where not entered correctly hope this info has help you best of luck happy downloading :)
