ipod shuffle help

I came to put some songs on a ipod shuffle but i ended up having to format it and restore it,i try and restore it back to factory settings but it just won't have it comes up with error codes.I've checked that code on apple site and tells me to download a program to reset it but that goe's so far and tells me there's a disk write fail any ideas how i get around this.

put the ipod in a ziplock bag and into the fridge an hour, then try the Apple reset tool again.

sorted this in the end and it was something stupid i did,instead of plugging direct into the back of my pc i plugged it into a belkin hub i use.So once i plugged into the back it worked straight away
