Is the Canon IP3000 inkjet printer compatible with Windows 7?
Does any one know if the Canon IP3000 inkjet printer is compatible with Windows 7 64bit? I’m thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 and I’d like to know first.
Cheers.

Already been to both Canon and Microsoft’s websites. Nothing is mentioned anywhere regarding Windows 7 compatibility.

Thanks for the link. I found that earlier. As I see it, the printer is compatible but there is no drivers (as yet) to make it work with 7. It doesn’t say you can use XP or Vista drivers either.
Is there any one reading this that’s running 7 and got the IP3000 working?

I have the ip3000 working in Windows 7 RC1.
The driver update wasn't available in W7, but was available on Windows Updates
Hope this helps

Thanks Phil,
I'll be installing Win7 on Friday. The first thing I'll do (after product activation) is download and install all the updates. I hope there's an update for the IP3000.
Cheers.

Well, I've installed Win7, but the ip3000 drivers that came with the printer won't install. It says that there is a known problem with these drivers and Win7.
I've downloaded just about all the drivers I could find for the IP3000, but none of then work.
Can any one help me?

The drivers that came with the printer will not work.
As I said, you need to let Windows find the drivers on-line.
I am using the ip3000 right now, on my main box, which I installed a few days ago with the official retail version of W7, so I can assure you, it works.
Try uninstalling and start over.
