you would need an airport card for the iMac, that's all. I've tried the D-Link USB Wireless stick but it keeps dropping the connection and crashing the Mac (OS X 10.3.3 & latest drivers). The only wireless I would now trust on the mac is the official apple ones. Bluetooth may work but I've not tried it on my PC or mac yet (even though I have a dongle on both).
I use my iPAQ (2210) wirelessly with the PC at home and it works fine for email, browsing & messenger (also works fine with my T610 mobile using GPRS)

That's all you need for your PDA to connect to your PC you will be able to set it up to send and receive emails as long as you are near your pc. If you want to send emails on the road you will need a GPRS phone with Bluetooth. The routers have more to do with your internet connection to the desktop and as such have little bearing on the PDA. By the way I just got one of these for someone at work, they are in my opinion the best PDA I have seen.
