The final, release version of MSE was officially released today and is available for immediate download. Versions are available for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (in 32- and 64-bit flavors).

I reinstalled windows 7 yesterday so thought I would give it a try and its great.

Has MS made a good AV at last?

Hmmm, gets a good review in that comaprison linked to, but if the figures are to be believed, damn it is a slow piece of work.... anyone care to comment who's used it?

I installed it but it has hidden spyware called spynet ,and i think it sends stuff about your pc back to microsoft.

Spynet was also present in Windows Defender.
Microsoft Security Essentials is a spin off the failed Windows Defender.
