Hi guys I recently bought an acer aspire netbook but I'm having difficulty creating a recovery disc seen as the netbooks dont have CD/DVD Drives, I don't have a optical cd drive but I do have a USB HDD.

My question is where is the folder that acer uses to create recovery discs and can i just mount this onto my USB HDD and burn to disk?

thanks

mo

Your best solution is to use Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/) to back up the whole HDD on the Acer (all partitions) to the USB HDD. This will allow you to restore the recovery partition, the system partition and the HDD signature whenever you need.

When you run Acronis in Windows, remember to make the recovery media (CD) so you can boot the system up with this CD to run True Image in DOS because sometimes you'll need to restore the system when Windows can't run.

It's recommended to get a slim DVD burner like this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151186) for your netbook.
