Oh can anyone help me please I am going insane!!

I have a smart label printer ( for sticky address labels etc) connected to a pc running windows xp. I want to be able to use the printer from my laptop that is running vista.

My laptop picks up the printer fine but when I try to add it I get a message advising printer driver not compatible with a policy blocking NT 4.0 driver.

Eh? Eh? EH?

What is all this about and how on earth do i resolve it. All the articles I have read on the net just wasted my brain!

Can anyone help please

Hey Mate, this generally happens with a network share. Usually means you have put and XP or NT Driver on a server machine.

In your case, if the printer is hooked up to an XP machine and you are trying to share it to a Vista one try one of two things :

Update your current driver for the printer on the XP machine, most likely you are using an NT driver, there will be an XP one somewhere

If you can find them, install the printer drivers for Vista and then try reconnecting. Not 100% positive this will work but its worth a shot

Let me know how it goes
