DVR 105 Ripping speeds?

I get the slowest rip speeds on this thing. Are there any hacked firmware or anything that will allow me to rip faster than 2.1x?

Yes the V1.33 hacked firmware should do it. However you really should pick up a seperate DVD-ROM drive for ripping. Less wear and tear on your burner and it will still give you faster ripping speeds than the Pioneer with the hacked firmware. The Lite-On 166 is a popular choice and it will run you under $33 shipped from www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com) (very reliable site).

Thanks jester. I just flashed the drive. It is working fine now for ripping. A whole lot quicker. Hopefully it doesn't ruin the burning capability.

No problem Jester. . . this is gonna get confusing having two jesters on this forum. :eek: Anyways I hope your drive doesn't burn out like mine did. I used my first 105 for everything and it burned out after 8 months. I was watching movies on it though.

Eh thats the chance you take when you mess with things. I burn PS2 & Movies,READ PS2 and movies. I watch them on the big screen.
