Make sure you use the correct driver for the Windows version you're running.

I wished I knew what Windows version you're running. :)

heres an update i'm running vista which i have been since i got the printer 12 months ago, i also have the instalation disc, but when i try to install, the software goes on ok but the print cd software says it needs a driver to run it, ive read the read me and that says its not compatible with vista, even though i have been using them togother for 12 months. its only since the format that i am having trouble with it. ive been on epsons site and downloaded 5 new drivers and its still asking for this cd print driver. ive searched through google and it appears to be a mac problem, but i dont have a mac.

Not sure what drivers you have downloaded, but try here (http://www.epson.co.uk/Printers-and-All-In-Ones/Inkjet/Epson-Stylus-Photo-R360/Drivers-Support) for latest driver which is Vista compatible.
Might also be a good idea to uninstall the existing driver, then reboot the PC, before installing the new one.

Some XP drivers will work for Vista x32 but you might not be able to use some features. Like I could use an XP x64 driver to run my old Lexmark printer in Vista x64 but the bidirectional communication was disabled. The manufacturers just don't care to update the drivers for their old stuff.

i might have worded it incorrectly, what i should have said is epson do do drivers for vista but not for their software ''print cd'', which enables you to print on to a disc, but as i have since found out surething cd/dvd labler allows you to print to cd/dvd with your epson printer.
thanks to everyone that tried to help
