hi guys thanks for looking

my laptop comes on the windows bar starts then it goes blank after a few mins its says


STOP: c000021a (Fatal system Errror)
The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000006 (0x00000000).
the system has been shut down.


how can i fix it in basic terms as i know jack about computers.

Can you boot in Safe Mode ?

Reboot the machine and tap the F8 key repeatedly.

This can be caused by Norton Go Back .... if you have Norton installed.
It may also be caused by Malware infestations ..... are you fully up to date with AV & AntiSpyware protection.

no joy on safe mode av was up to date.

Do you have the Windows Installation Disk ? or the Manufacturer's Restore Disk(s) ? .... if not you are a bit stuffed really.

What is the make/model of the Laptop .... it's possible that it has a hidden partition, from which you can do a System Restore.

I cant find your exact model no., but typically, if there is a hidden HDD partition, it can be accessed by tapping the F10 key at bootup

sorted m8 f10 did it lost all files mind...:(

You're welcome m8y ..... sorry you lost your files though. Unfortunately this is often the case with pre-installed Operating Systems .... they ofer you little option other than a restore back to Factory Settings.
Maybe an external drive for backups on your Christmas list ;)

Yep, when you restore the system with the restore discs or via the recovery partition, you'll lose them all.
