XBOX360 Nothing on the screen

My son's console has gone on the blink, it powers up ok and there's sound but there's nothing on the screen is it likely to be a console fault or a faulty AV lead?

Usually a GPU fault but it's worth trying a new AV cable first. If it's under 3 years old, send it in to Microsoft under the 3 red lights warranty. You can either claim it does 3 red lights sometimes (usually works) or wrap it up in a towel and run it until it overheats, which should force the 3 red light error.

Thanks for the prompt reply, I had a feeling it would probably be a graphic card problem.

I'll get him to try it at a mate's first.
