I have connected a Sata dvd writer to my pc, but it the pc won't boot up, I'm getting NTLDR is missing, I have went into Bios and changed boot sequence to all thats in there but still can't get the pc to boot, when I disconnect the sata writer it boots fine, my guess is the sata drive is acting as master, but if thats right how do I fix this problem ?

You will need to set the HDD as the first boot device then set the system HDD as the 1st boot HDD. There are 2 settings in the BIOS, one is to set the boot sequence among the drives (HDDs, optical drives, floppy drive) and the 2nd is to set which HDD you want to boot 1st. For SATA drives, there are no Master and Slave.

No luck Van, the mobo is an AA8 Duramax. Tried all combinations available in Bios, all with the same negative results until I disconnected the sata dvd writer.

Sometimes we can get bad items. Sounds like a bad burner. You'll need to try it on another system so you can send it back for a replacement before time runs out.
