View Full Version : how to restore a laptop to standard without any disks??
i have an acer 5050 laptop and want to sell it but dont want any of my passwords history or anything on it want it back to how i got it how can i do this?
i have found a disk it says windows vista experience in a case sealed is that a restore thing?

Me thinks it's not the restore disc. Most laptop manufacturers expect you to create the back up discs when you 1st turned on the laptop and activated Windows. There might be a sticker (check the bottom of the laptop) with the key/serial number of the Windows version that was installed on the laptop at the time you bought it. This will allow you to fresh install Windows using that key. You'll then need to activate the Windows installation again.
