Singstar on PS3

Did i read somewhere that you can play PS2 Singstar games on a PS3 80Gb?

What is the difference between them?

I'm looking at Singstar Abba.

does your PS3 play PS2 games?
if so then yes, you can

if it doesn't then you will need to buy one of the PS3 singstar games, that then allows you to access PS2 discs and play the songs off them

Looks like you can use PS2 Singstar discs on a non backwards compatible PS3 but you must have a PS3 Singstar disc to start it of then you can 'swap disc' to a PS2 disc;
