View Full Version : need help choosing a Digital Camcorder

Hello

I dont really know the first thing about these things so iam just wondering if people can help me :).

Iam looking at spending about 300-400 GBP on one of these things. Where is the place to buy one? to upload them to my computer do i need one with dv in/out? what is the picture like with one within this price range? any other help woyuld be useful :)

If you want to buy online just do a search in www.dealtime.co.uk (http://www.dealtime.co.uk/) or if you want to buy from a shop then i think Jessops are good because they'll usually match internet prices.
I recommend Sony above all others,from my experience they are quieter (no motor noise picked up on the recording) and the picture quality is superb,although most cams will struggle in low light conditions.
If you want to capture the video to your pc then you'll need dv out on the cam,dv in is so you can transfer the video back to the tape once edited etc.This (dv in) isn't a feature that i'd bother with as you may aswell just but the video footage onto dvdr once its on your pc.
