upgrading from 1.5 to 1.51 benq problems/help

hi all i have a benq with 1.5 firmware and want to upgrade it but cant seem to get it to work by the tutorial it wont go into vendor mode where i click into it comes back as failed

try clicking 'intro / device ID' then select yes to resend, then turn the drive off and on again, that should put it into vendor mode.

tried it but how can i turn the power off and on within 1 sec

pull out the power lead (360 or drive), plug it back in and turn it on. it doesn't have to be within 1 second, i think it resends for at least 5 seconds.

from that drive properties section it looks like you have a liteon not a benq - try the dummy from ixtreme button then the liteon erase button and write?

thats really strange cos the case is the same as a benq but if i read carefully i see philips and lite on digital solutions coorporation any way where do i start as ive heard loads about these drives being harder

any way ive had a read at the tutorial and there is to much red writing so think il just get someone to do it for me thanks for your help guys

if it's already modded this is all you have to do:

open the tray then close it halfway, unplug the power to the drive and plug it back in
press the dummy from ixtreme button on the dvdkey32 tab
load the ixtreme 1.51 liteon firmware and spoof
go to mtkflash32 tab, press the liteon erase button, wait for status to come up and turn the drive off and on
press write

not sure about the drivers i heard something about conflicting or something. if i do **** it up am i able to buy another drive for it or will it be a full new console

as long as you have the key you will be able to put another drive into it, but im sure unless you through the drive out the window you shouldn't break it, the main issue ive ever heard of is people plugging the power in the wrong way and frying the insides of the drive. Also you could reflash the drive in dos if you cant use JF.

what about the drivers ive heard about . i bought a sata card from ebay and installed the stuff from the disc that came with it

follow the part of the jungleflasher tutorial about uninstalling the VIA drivers, otherwise your PC might freeze after you erase the liteon.

if something does go horribly wrong then as long as you have a copy of the drive key you can buy a new drive to replace this one.

i've never seen a liteon drive that was completely killed by software.

It means your missing a couple of serials, so when your drive was first modded the software used didnt pick up all the serial info. Happened to me alot, you can flash without the serials,(but may not be the safest on live) but if your happy to open up your drive, one serial is on laser i think and one is under the pcd board, so you would have to unscrew the pcb board. its simple to do. if you want to do it i will find the link to the program you will need to get to rebuild the firmware.

am i supposed to do it all fast as the drive closed when i was erasing it and now the drive wont open antd the green light flashes

drive wont open once it has been erased, as it has no firmware on it, you just need to flash the hacked firmware to your drive now.

Is your sata cable new or old? i found that when i was flashing consoles at christmas that they were hanging while flashing(this was in dos) and it was because my sata cable was dead and swapped to a new one and worked fine.

its new it came with the card . even though i erased the drive should i still be able to go back into jf and flash the new firmware

yh once drive is erased it is ready for the new firmware to be flashed, you could try it again see what happens if it persists i would wait for Ogs or Mp3boy to come online, they may be able to help you.

I usually flash consoles in dos as it works best for me anyway.
