Hi all

Thanks for looking in and for any advice anyone can offer - I've been tearing my hair out this evening and a bit gutted that I may have just blown £50 on nothing (that's a fair amount of cash to me :( )

I have had an Epson Stylus Photo R360 printer for I guess a year or so. It gets very little use and after the orginal carts ran out I bought some compatibles which worked fine.

I haven't used the printer for a couple of months and got it out this week to find that the black ink was unrecognised? As my daughter was desperate to print something for her homework I had to buy some ink locally so paid out £50 for a set at Argos.

When I plugged in the black ink it charged it and seemed happy enough but then said that the light cyan (the next one in the row) was unrecognised. I replaced that too and now it's just gone back to the black being unrecognised again and I can't seem to get past it :(

Apart from the black and light cyan, the others are all compatibles - is it possible that the mix is causing the problem? If the black was first in the row I might assume that the printer was throwing a fit because of the compatibles but there is another colour before it. Should I risk replacing the rest of the carts to see if that works or is my printer goosed?

I am loathe to plug in the rest of them as at least I could claw back a few quid on Ebay for the unused ones so I don't lose everything.

I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the printer but that didn't help.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

Theres nothing wrong with the printer m8, you just cant mix compatibles with originals, must be a full set of either installed.

£50 for epson ink "SHOCK" you could have bought a brand new one with ink for that price.

I know - I almost did buy a new printer instead but I thought I would do the right thing by the environment and not throw a 'perfect working order' printer in the bin. Next time the environment can sod off.

Unfortunately I put the rest of the original Epson carts in and it hasn't helped one bit. Faulty cart? Dead printer? Either way all my beer money has gone this month and I still can't print :(

remove all the carts then switch printer off for a minute or so with no carts installed (this is importannt)

switch it back on and follow the on screen instructions to install the carts using the full set of originals
