for those of you who dont already know; typing the name of the website you wish to visit and then holding control and pressing enter will automatically place a http://www and a .com before and after the name you just typed i.e

1. type dvdrom-guide
2. hold Ctrl + press Enter
3. it wil now show http://www.dvdrom-guide.com
4. ONLY adds .com at the end i.e. no .co.uk or any other :(

my problem is, that it no longer works when i do it. i think i may have deleted it accidentily when i was removing some files from the "downloaded program files" from the IE options.

anyone know how to get it back?

thanks

the only thing I can think it takes it from is the following registry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\UrlTemplate

make sure you have a string value of www.%s.com in there.

Otherwise try a repair on IE.
