upgrading a liteon 1.5 to 1.51 question

hi guys hope i dont sound dumb but ive dwnloaded jungle flasher and the 1.51 firmware , it says the liteon is easy to flash once its been flashed but on reading the instructions on how to flash it first time around it says about having the tray half open but the eject status closed ? do i need to do this ? and if i do how do i get it to be half open ?

The tray half open business is just for retrieveing the key as far as i know. As for reflashing, my pc and jungle flasher isnt a good match. So reflashed in dos, so i just made firmware from the hacked i already had. And then just flashing it couple mins and done. Are you familiar to flashing 360's? and do you have access to the original hacked firmware(1.5)?

no havnt got the original firmware , but flashed my first samsung drive yrs ago but havnt touched um since , think ill give it back to my mate who flashed it for me to do just read it was simple so thought id do it myself but not sure if having vista 64 bit etc may cause prbs

2nd time around will be a breeze. Key extraction is posible without probe etc.
If you need the tray half open for reference, eject the tray, then push it back in and when it's half closed cut the power to the drive. If you're using 360 (not my chosen way it has to be said) switch power off at mains, if using Xecuter (later model) switch it off with the button or if like me an Early V1 Xecuter I built a switch into it (and a 3232 for that matter :) ).
When you turn the power back on the tray should stay half shut (if you're a pesimist) as oposed to half open (if you're an optimist).
If you don't get it right first time practice a little. No harm will be done.

all sorted now , took it to the original flasher and had it done for free ;) jungle flasher wouldnt work on my pc so wasnt worth messing about to do just 1
