Hi everyone,

i've got loads of pics i want to join together and put onto a dvd. - I want each one to be displayed for a set time aswell.

Any software that lets you do this?

(Even if you only know somthing that lets you make avis would be great, i know how to get the avis to vobs.)

Thanks very much.

I've done something like this once, but only for a VCD. I wanted to make a slideshow of 10 or so pics for a duration of a song, 4 or 5 minutes long. I loaded the jpg's into virtualdubmod, and saved them as avi's. Calculated/estimated a delay in between picture changes, and encoded the avi's to mpg with TMPGenc for that set duration. Joined all the encoded mpg's, demuxed out the old audio, and muxed them together with the desired audio track.

Don't really know any other way, but that way worked fine for me.

didn't actually make one but just browsed through nero vision express and it seems like it can do this- select slideshow and choose dvd-video- got some mega tacky effects like "star wipes" :D

think you can add audio too- nero does the encoding for the audio and video- got to have the mpeg2 add in and NVE will only work with a proper retail version of nero

Nero Vision Express as stated above. You can can also use Windows Movie Maker 2 that comes with Windows XP to do this but it will not output to DVD compliant file so you will have to encode it. I have used both many times with good results. I would recommend Nero if you just want a simple slide show. Movie Maker 2 has a lot more options if you want to add tittles, credits, narrations, ect... Just make sure you update to the latest version of Movie Maker as earlier versions had a lot of bugs in them.

Could also create an AVISynth script and encode that. Probably more of a hassle than it is worth though.
