Imac setup

So my dad just bought a shiny new iMac to replace our beige G3 tower! I've been running the G3 for over 10 years I reckon and couldnt move from OS 9.2.2 to OS X as the tower couldnt take it. So I'm out of the loop a little and was wondering, if money was no object, what software would you put on the thing?

Whats the best anti virus software these days? I use Norton on my Mac OS 9 desktop. Is it still the software of choice (not sure it was the software of choice back then but did the job) or is the Intego software what the peeps are using?

I havent used antivirus software since 1992 on a mac I have only heard of one virus in the wild and people got it from download iLife 10 off of bitorrents
