I have an HP laptop which connects through a netgear wireless router upstairs to the internet. I am on Virgin cable.
Suddenly last night my laptop slowed to a complete stop and I had to restart it. When it came back on I noticed no wireless connection could be made to my network. When I took it upstairs it connected to the net via the modem direct.
My laptop has been defrag, cleared of all sh*t and was running like a dream until last night. I did a system restore, going back a month, but still no joy, not even the icon for networks??
Have rebooted the router, modem and main computer upstairs and still nothing.
Is it possible I have picked up a little virus or something? Dont want to re-install anything if possible so if someone could advise me how to try and get the network back with all the relevant info would be very greatful. Have tried setting up a new connection, but still nothing. Weird.
Thanks

First off .... try uninstalling, rebooting & reinstalling the wireless network driver.
