Hi lads
I've set up my Xbox on my home network, all of my sharing files are visible on Xbox.
The problem is that it won't play my divx films.
They play fine on the PC's media cetre, fine on the Xbox if I burn them to disc, but says "cannot play file" when I try to stream them over the network.
I re-installed the K Lite codec pack but still no joy.
Any ideas?
Cheers for looking in.

I managed to get this sorted.
Used info from another forum.
Dunno if I can post a link to it in case anyone else needs it, so i'll just stick the guide straight on here.
Hey guys, I have noticed quite a lot of posts requesting info on how to set up media sharing. I have decided to re-post my original guide, but updated it with in regards to the NXE.
Now the simplest and quickest way to watch content on you console is via the ‘My Xbox’ tab on the NXE. Since the Video Library option can play DIVX/XVID encoded files, it's more convenient to use than the media center (my personal opinion). You will need to download the optional media update which can be found by going into the Game Marketplace > All Games > Scroll down to ‘O’ on the title tab > Download the optional media upate.
This quick guide will explain how you do this (with pictures).
Open Windows Media Player on your primary computer.
Select tools > options > library
Select the configure sharing folder (make sure your console is on at this point) (picture (http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l27/sporkle_steve/mediasharing.jpg))
From here you should see your xbox console, highlight the console and hit customise
Make sure you tick the boxes that say music, movies and pictures (picture (http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l27/sporkle_steve/customise.jpg)).
Also make sure you tick the 'All ratings' check box to ensure all files are included.
Click OK, apply and apply to go back to the main window.
From this point onwards your media sharing should be set up on your console. You can check this by going to the ‘My Xbox’ tab and selecting either the video, music or picture library. Once you’re in here you need to change your video source, from here you are able to pick the consoles HDD, a disc in the console, a portal device (external hard drive or USB pen) and then your PC. Select your correct source.
Now providing you have chosen the computer as your source you need to add the directories.
The primary directories are those in you documents folder but you can add any you like.
Again hit the tools > options > library > monitor folders (picture (http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l27/sporkle_steve/folders.jpg)).
From here you can add your own directories (i.e. your music folder, movies or TV Shows)
Once you've done that hit Ok and it will begin to add you files.
And viola - media sharing enabled on your console - you can now listen/view music, pictures and videos though your Xbox 360. I hope this guide has been helpful. http://forums.xbox.com/emoticons/emotion-1.gif
