i haev a netowrk going up between my sis room and my. I haev a router to make two comptuers to go online
here a summary of everything:

our records indicate that you may be using more than one dnamic ip address with your comcas inter account.
if you know you are using more than one dynamic ip adress by connecting more than one computer or other device to your cable modem simultaneously and want to continue to do so, please call us to discuss a number of options for connecting more than one persoanl computer or device to the internet at the same time. if we do not hear from you before june 22, 2004, then, in accordance with out current terms of service and applicable policies, comcast will remove any additional ip addresses that are not beging paid for your comcast internet account

add 1 line for 4.95

only connect one device to your cable modem at a time switch computer or devices back and forth on your cable modem as you wish to use them

**I have a router, and all i did was connect two comptuer and it worked.**
so they saying i cant have a router
anotehr summary:

purschase your own router from a retail location and connect in yourself, which will allow you to haev mutliple connecting, but still use only one ip address.

what to do???????

i haev router, but my friend say use hub?

Yeah me too, and I'm on Comcast now for many years.
If I recall correctly that only happens with switches and hubs, not routers.
On a router each computer is assigned an IP address by the router's DHCP server. These addresses are not visible to anyone on the outside.
Doesn't sound like he's using a router to me.

make sure ur router is setting up a dhcp server. so that each computer is assigned an internal ip and behind the main ip that comcast sees.
