Got my 360 last weke and got cr@p games with it. Ordered tomb raider and gta iv.
Tomb raider arrives (brand new) and it's came off the holding spindle and scratched to fook.
GTA IV I get from Argos. It constantly locks up. Is this the console or the game? It's fully updated, although just running off the mem card so far.
I'm well p!ssed off cos haven't jhad anything decent yet and just locking up...

Well i think i remeber gta having a problem in benqs, cant remember if that was flashed ones though. Could just be unlucky. If its under 28 days old go to store tell them the games you are playing are locking up and ask them advice, or for a replacement?

The game is a 3 days old and the console is a week old today.
It's a liteon drive, if that's any help?

I just googled grand theft auto lock up issues, and theres a load of results, Maybe a issue with some of the gta games, i personally had no problems but might be on the odd few, and maybe you've been unlucky? If you've got another game, try playing that and it should tell you whether its your console or game that causing the locks ups.

Nothing else has so far locked it up, but only got kid type games which wouldn't tax it. Where I was seeing the lockups was right at the start during the intro but mine is ok there. Will give rockstar a phone and see what they say...

Try installing the latest dash update (NXE) and installing GTA to the hard drive then playing from there.
