Was thinking of getting a 3.5" HDD External case for my laptop, and sticking a 160GB Seagate in it.

Hard Disk:

Any one purchased one of these external cases? I heard some wont accept HDD's over 130GB and only ATA100.??

Thanks

My advice?

Buy a 5.25 external case and stick the HD in a cooler if I was you, the modern 7,200 rpm drives get very hot and good cooling is essential.

the 5.25 external case's are ugly (one on svp any way), whilst the 3.5 ones are click and small ^_^.

Know any other 5.25 drives?

When you buy external cases for HDs, you need to check the specs of the external cases carefully. All will tell you what the max HD capacity they can handle.
