I have just setup an external wifi network. It is a Linksys Router with 50cm External Pole Antenna.
The Antenna is is mounted on the front of the house. Directly opposite is a big court yard (accross a country lane) but with or without the external antenna the signal is no better?
What antenna/equipment can I use for better signal range?
The Signal needs to go from point A to all the buildings in point B

The Signal is currently low in most places.
Any Help would be great.

Hi Chris,
Sorry not been on the Sister forum for a little while !
Anyway .... Point A is where the Internet connection is and you need to have the signal carrying to the steading ?
Is the laptop \ desktops saying that they are receving a low signal in point B ?
What happens if you have laptop right next to the router itself ? what happens ?

Thanks for your reply.
I need the signal to cover the buildings around point B. The signal is low around this area at the moment.
Next to the router signal is full.
The external Antenna I have used is this one:

I have tested the cable I made and it is working 100% the cable I used was the HDF400 which is here: http://www.faculty-x.net/cables.htm
Any advice would be great

Most wifi antennas are useless, the only solution i can suggest is purchase a pair of netgear wireless access points and once configured install one in the building closest to the router and on in the building furthest away.
Hovever someone might pop along with better advice.

That may be an option.
Is there anyway to get the 2 access points to come up as 1 wireless network rather than 2?

not sure what you mean? if you buy a pair and use them as repeaters/extenders they only have one wireless network and one SSID as you set them up with the exact same settings/network name/SSID as your router your presently using.
major pain unless you know what your doing.
you could also try something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Wireless-Universal-Range-Extender/dp/B000IE8STS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top and if it doesnt do the job just return it

Forgot about this post again ... My bad ! ..
You can pair up both access points mate, but I know what you mean they act like a bridge so you can name it as one Wireless network so long as they talk to each other on the same ID.
