Hi guys, i have installed xp pro on new 500gb sata drive, now i am trying to install drivers for audigy sb0570, i know they are correct drivers because i had the card running ok when i had previous hdd installed (ide).
Anyway the driver appears to install ok, but when i look in device manager it is not there.
I go to control/audio and sounds, but it is showing no device.
If anyone can help thet would be great.
Thanks

The problem was because the driver was not installed correctly; it's not because of the SATA drive. Please tell the OS you're running. BTW, please get the latest drivers here (http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&CatName=Sound+Blaster&subCatID=874&subCatName=PC%20-%20Internal&prodID=14189&prodName=Audigy+Value) and retry.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
I removed the sata and put the old ide back in just for peace of mind to make sure i had the correct driver.
I uninstalled all the software and driver on the ide drive, i then proceeded to reinstall, which it done straight away.
I then removed the IDE drive again, put the sata back in, made sure that all soundcard software and drivers were removed, rebooted and proceeded to install the drivers again, but again it went through the installation no problem, but again it still shows no device and when i try to open any of the software that comes with the driver, i get a message like "there is no hardware installed that this program supports".
My OS is win xp corp, motherboard is, Asus p5s800.

There has to be something else going on here ..... I agree with Van, it is highly unlikely that the SATA Drive is the issue.
Were you using the exact same version of XP Pro Corp on your old IDE Drive ?
Have you installed SP2/3 on the new SATA Drive ? or is anything else different on the new setup ?

Yep, you need to download the latest driver for Win XP from the link in post #2 and try to reinstall the driver. If after that the soundcard still doesn't work, open Device Manager to see if there is a yellow ! . If you see a yellow !, it means you'll need to install the driver manually. We'll talk about it if this is the case.
