hi everyone was messing with my 360 last night as had the 3 lights again so took apart to adjust my xclamp fix , then i had the one red light and e74 so was press down the other chip behind the gpu to see if it was that then i must of hit the eject button as the tray shot out with the disk still spinning and the 360 went off , so i finish what i was doing baked it for 5 and then cooled it off and no more 3 or one red light and now boots up fine but the dvd tray wont open or close ? ive pushed it in and pulled it out , ive taken the lid off and turned the cogs ive even pulled the frigging tray right out by accident but still the motor does'nt even make a noise , if i move the laser fully out it goes to the middle and when the xbox is on and it says reading the laser goes red but thats it ? is it nackered and if it is will i be able to get the key ?

its a m25 i think im at me dads at the mo as at the same time my pc went tits up

cheers

you should be able to swap your existing drive board into a new drive body (about £30 delivered on dealextreme.com - search for ts-h943) and it'll work.

MY mate was sending his 360 back so changed boards with his and with his board in my drive the drive worked fine except it wouldnt play games obviously but with my board in his drive it still wont eject so i guess the board has nackered up . :(

thanks

I've had that problem with a few samsung boards, easiest thing to do is get a whole new drive and just transfer the firmware across.

yeah think the chip may have to come off and be read but its a busy time of year for chippers so will probably have it soon in the new yr .

cheers guys

Should still be able to read the firmware without removing chip.

hi ogs , will it be able to be read in the normal way then ? what happened was the drive had the bottom metal part missing when i had it , it had been a rrod and it had the bottom plate missing and big holes drilled out of the actual metal casing and extra fans and the main fan rewired so it was fully on but one thing they didnt do was the clamp kit ? so i fixed it but wierdly every time i put it back together it would have 1 red light and e74 error so i read about pressing dwn on one of the chips to see if it fixed it , whilst doing this i was holding up the dvd drive when the bottom must of touch the metal casing or something and the dvd tray shot out with the disk still spinning fast and since then it wouldnt eject etc , the laser comes on and moves but no eject etc.

thanks

The laser moving is a good sign. Give it a go and see what happens.
