Looking for mp3 software/player that can play files at faster speeds

Anyone know some of the software players that can play mp3's at like2x or 3x speeds. I listen to audio books that don't read fast enough.

windvd does it but is buggy.
looking for something stable or a winamp add on or something.

There were several plugins for Winamp 2.x capable of speeding up whilst keeping pitch, etc.

In Media Player Classic all you have to do is press ctrl+up arrow to speed up playback. Could also frameserve using AVISynth and the timestretch() function.

Something like
mpasource("whatever.mp3").TimeStretch(tempo=200) or
directshowsource("whatever.mp3").TimeStretch(tempo=300)

i found some chronotron software on winamp's site that works with winamp, which i never liked but is getting nicer, and windows media player 9.

makes people seem livelier and more quick witted when they talk fast.
they had a dealy on tv how shows are getting their banter on more quickly...
