hi,
lately my computers 2 western digital 250 gb hard drives that are used for storage only keep getting corrupted.it sucks because i spend hours and hours getting it to the amount of data it has and all of the sudden i try opening the drive up and it says it is corrupted. what could cause a corupt hard drive? could it be a virus that gets to my drives from downloading? or is it a faulty drive?
my main 120gb hard drive w/operating system does not have this problem. only my 2 storage drives. then it goes into chkdisk modes and deletes the majorit of data on each drive. can someone explain to me what is going on.
thanks

A Virus, a faulty drive, a faulty cable, a faulty controller, or an unstable program or driver ...all of those are the common causes of random disk corruption.

You'll need to do some troubleshooting. It's unlikely that both drives happened to go bad at the same time so it's probable one of the other things that's common to both.

Are you running NTFS or FAT 32 ?

What OS ? .... If XP, have you got SP1 installed ?

How are the 2 x 250 gb drives connected ?
