Hi

Just got a USB Bluetooth adaptor from the local PC shop which the salesman said it was compatible with a Vista machine.

I've plugged it into a spare USB slot and installed the software but I get a message that the software does not work with my version of Windows. I have now uninstalled the software.

I tried to send a photo from my phone to the PC via bluetooth but the message on the phone says "no other bluetooth devices found".

So what now? Is there a well known generic driver I could use? Or has Vista itself have a driver for a USB adaptor?

FYI, the adaptor is a Edimax Bluetooth v2.0 Class-2 USB Adaptor.

Unless the filter drivers are installed and working correctly, the BT wont work as theres no mean for the two to communicate.
For fun, you could ask the saleman to 'show you' how its done if he said it will work.
Or email Edimax and ask for a newer driver thats Vista compatiable.

As Duffy said, Edimax Support page (http://edimax.eu/en/support.php?pl1_id=1&mwsp=1). BTW, BlueSoleil (http://www.bluesoleil.com/) is a very good one to have.

Many thanks fellas.

Got sorted via the Edimax web site which of course is where I should have gone in the first place - doh! Just didn't cross my mind at the time...

Yep, the manufacturer's website should be the 1st place to look.
