Lo all,

Well this sasser b worm virus or what ever the hell it is is pi**ing the hell outta me so decided to format and start again, this time with new tools that work! as i currently have norton but its doing nothing but telling me i have the virus then when i run removal progs they cant find it! but i keep shutting down, lol

Anyway so i want to get a firewall and also some software to block those peeping eyes etc and so im safe on p2p stuff etc as keep seeing incidents on forums.

Whats the best software out for doing stuff like this so i can be anonymous

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Out of curiousity when you did a format/clean install, did you use fdisk? and if not theres a 90% chance the virus is still there after a format, Also have you applied the MS patch for the sasser b worm?

anyhow i prefer sygate personal firewall running alongside Avast! AV both freeware.

Another ZoneAlarm Pro user here, very good firewall :t_up:.

Hardware firewall, or a basic NAT in a router would be the top choice.

If going for a software firewall, then Sygate is proven to be better than Zone Alarm.

That would be more like 0%. The worm does not survive Fdisk'ing and/or Formatting the harddrive. You'll only get infected if you access the internet. If you have an always on broadband connection that's how it's reinfecting you so quickly after a format, it's not because the virus was still on the harddrive.
