laser gone

m8,s console suddenly stopped reading disks although the same disks play flawlessly on my hardly ever used machine.its a sammy drive whats the easiest solution please chaps new drive or change the laser,tempted to have a go meself.

any help appreciated.

xbox 1 or 360?


either way , laser would be your easiest option of your a novice (not meant derogatorily)

if its an xbox one, just get a replacement drive and bung it in, if its a 360 then obviously your gonna have to mess with keys etc etc if you change the full drive (you could get the same brand drive and change the drives pcb over though, but would have to be a like for like, and extra careful with hitachis, some variations work on different volatges.



so laser is probably easiest for ya :D

you may also want to look into the spin motor, as I am seeing a high failure rate of the MS25 and MS28 drives here in USA

yes should have said its a 360 he,s just ordered a new machine so basically i can have his old machine for a few games is it worth the time and effort to save.
