So what's the score with Fallout?

One minute, this was available by some traders, but has now been removed. I know it was a promo copy - did this cause problems?

Theres some chain of thought that suggests the "Build" of the game would be logged in the save game. Thus it would be easy to scan and detect that you were playing a pre-release "review" copy on a modded drive.
Unless I'm mistaken this isn't 100% proven, but I would deffo err on the side of caution.
Of course many remember the initial wave of bans that procedded the Crackdown release which was suspiciously early. It's possible that this too was an early build review copy and MS detected it.

Of course I'm only repeating what I've picked up on via online chatter, this could all be a load of ol' pony.

I would avoid anything done by torrent groups such as RUiNS. As danman said, Fallout 3 and anything done by RUiNS is a review copy and at best will be an incomplete version of the game.
